April 28th: Getting Out The Vote While Protecting Your 501(c)(3) Status. 2014 is an election year, and non-profit organizations are well positioned to encourage community involvement in our electoral process. However, it is imperative that 501(c)(3) organizations understand the Dos and Don’ts during election season. Nonprofits need to be vigilant about the limits of political campaigning and communications. Violating state or federal tax, campaign finance, lobbying, or elections laws could result in significant fines and even the loss of your 501(c)(3) tax status.
Are you aware of all of the Get Out The Vote (GOTV) requirements and limits for 501(c)(3) organizations? Highly experienced attorneys Jack Horak and Edward Spinella from Reid & Riege, P.C. will provide the expertise, knowledge and tools necessary to ensure that your organization is in full compliance this election season. We are also grateful to Secretary of State Denise Merrill, who will make a guest appearance to discuss the importance of community engagement! Please join us for a fascinating morning.
