Corporate Compliance Forum

The CCPA Corporate Compliance Forum is designed for those responsible for ensuring corporate compliance in their organization.  It is targeted at all agencies providing services in a Medicaid or Medicare environment, and is relevant for organizations with contracts through the BHP, FFS Medicaid, DDS, DMHAS and DCF.

5/21/13 -  This meeting featured a panel discussion on HIPAA Security/Risk Assessment/Cyber Liability Insurance with several outside experts.  Download the powerpoint presentation slides here.

We were pleased to have the following guests join us: Arnie Menchel, Attorney, Halloran & Sage; Augusto Russell, May Bonne and Walsh; and Scot Smailes, The Walker Group.  

 

3/19/13- The March meeting was postponed due to bad weather. 


1/15/13 - During the January Meeting, several providers gave updates on their experiences with the Medicaid RAC audits.  The majority of the meeting focused on discussion related to CPT Coding.

 

11/20/12 -  At the November Compliance Forum, providers discussed some of the upcoming changes related to CPT Coding.  Additionally, the group reviewed some employer compliance issues, and discussed agency practices related to their Board of Directors' involvement in corporate compliance.

 

9/11/12 - The September Compliance Forum meeting was replaced by the CCPA Seminar: HIPAA Audit Protocols and Other Key Updates.   

 

7/17/12 - The July Corporate Compliance Forum featured contributors who provided insight on Transitioning from Paper to Electronic Health Records.  Special thanks to Stan Soby of Oak Hill, Kim DiBella Farber of Child Guidance Clinic of Southern Connecticut and Terri Eblen, Bridges…A Community Support System. 5/15/12 -  At the May meeting, providers discussed an array of topics, including: hiring & compliance issues with respect to the new EEOC Guidance on the use of criminal background checks, practical approaches to using and securing mobile technology and data, and one member shared her most recent CMS Medicaid Audit experience.

 

3/20/12 - The March meeting provided updates on the Behavioral Health Clinic Regulations and the Child Rehab Regulations, as well as featured the presentation, Essential Elements of a Compliance Plan given by Laurie Valentine, Director of Compliance and Privacy of the Village for Families and Children.
