Divisions of the Association are organized and authorized by the Board of Directors. The divisions provide a means by which organizational members who share common interests in special areas of the Association may meet, confer, and promote the interest of their divisions.
There are three divisions and one sub-division of the Association. Each is responsible for developing public policy initiatives and carrying out activities related to particular interests of the respective division. The divisions of the Association are as follows:
A. Adult Behavioral Health
B. Childrens Mental Health & Substance Abuse
C. Developmental Disabilities
D. Birth to Three (Sub-Division)
Each division develops an annual work plan that is submitted to the Board of Directors. Each division assumes the following responsibilities:
A. Sets its own goals and objectives: identifies needs, issues and problems of division members; communicates needs, issues and problems to the Board of Directors and to appropriate regulatory bodies and state agencies, subject to consistency with board policy.
B. Divisions may solicit funding for special projects, subject to board approval. Each division shall present to the Board its requests for financial and staff resources.
C. Encourages active participation in the division.
D. Solicits recommendations from its members for potential nominees to the Association Board of Directors. Such recommendations shall be conveyed to the two division representatives on the nominating committee.
Each division establishes its own operating principles including qualifications of division membership and what constitutes a quorum, subject to consistency with Board policy. The divisions are empowered to initiate policy, subject to Board approval.
Each division elects a Chair from among the membership of the Board of Directors and a Vice-Chair from the division membership.
A. The Division Chair preside over meetings and works with staff to assure smooth functioning of the division.
B. The vice-chair is responsible for taking minutes of division meetings and for seeing that members of the Board and members of the division receive copies of such minutes in a timely manner. |
